EPA Grant for Schools; HPS is a statutory partner

(Havre) The Environmental Protection Agency has announced a new grant for schools: The Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grant Program.

This grant offers the opportunities for disadvantaged communities the opportunity to transform into healthy, climate resilient communities by funding projects that address climate challenge and reduce pollution.

Bolstering community strength by ensuring that local residents receive the benefits of the investments to build upon for future generations is a goal of this grant. Such investments include installing energy efficient measures, premeditate or mitigate harmful substances in buildings, upgrade HVAC systems to reduce emissions, and replacing toxic play surfaces for children.

The grant amount is $10 Million – $20 Million and Bear Paw Development is the lead applicant with Havre Public Schools as a statutory partner.
