Havre High School Has Restrictions After Threat

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre High School’s campus will be closed to the public until further notice following another threat written on a bathroom wall. Superintendent of Havre Schools Andy Carlson says they will be making changes that will keep people safe, while allowing classes to be taught.

“Students are only going to readmitted, after the first part of the day, with their parent or guardian. Additionally, the only entrance that will be open in the morning will be the west entrance for students. We want to resume school on Wednesday. All activities, again, at Havre High School are canceled for Wednesday. On Thursday, it’s my hope that we’ll have activities.”

Carlson urges people to wait until after tonight’s School Board meeting to talk to him about the situation.

“I would just say that, you know obviously, we’ve got to run our School Board meeting tonight. There will probably be people that want to have questions. Let us run our School Board meeting, get through that. And then I’ll just stay and I’ll visit with folks afterwards. I’ll make myself available to them. I’ll just stay and visit and hopefully we can get through those pieces that we have to get through, and then I’ll just make myself available.”

Carlson says that they will also be searching students’ backpacks and coats.
