(Havre) – Saturday, May 30th, is Living History Day in Havre. To celebrate the occasion; the Fort Assiniboine Preservation Society, the Frank Derosa Railroad Museum, H. Earl Clack Museum, Havre Beneath the Streets and Wapachugn Buffalo Jump will be hosting a sweeping range of activities to engage with.
Speaking with the Fort Assiniboine Preservation Society, chairwoman Emily Mayer described their events for the day as: “…giving tours, as well as there will be native American dancers, and Ron Smith will be there as well dressed as an authentic uniformed cavalry soldier.”
Manager of the Buffalo Jump Caroline Tess is planning extended hours, “from 9am until 3pm with tours all throughout the day. But we are a little bit different this year because we will be having unguided tours. So, for the first time in probably over 15-20 years, people will be able to enter the site and guide themselves at a reduced rate.”
