(Havre) Director of Public Works Trevor Mork today announced the the boil water advisory in Havre will last at least 2 more weeks, per order by the Department of Environmental Quality.
“The City of Havre Public Works met with Montana DEQ this morning, Friday May 3rd to discuss the path moving forward regarding public health concerns associated with the public water supply for the city of Havre. Continuing with an abundance of caution, consumers can expect the boil water advisory to continue for at least two more weeks beyond the two weeks that we’ve already been under,” Mork said. “Over the past two weeks, flushing of water mains have been taking place in the city in areas that are at the end of the distribution. Now, we’re going to focus on a full system flush that will be taken throughout the whole entire city over the next coming two weeks.”
Mork says that users may experience water discoloration, a chlorine odor, cloudy water or bubbly water. He goes on to recommend that, if users experience these water symptoms, they should run either a sink or outside house for between 15 to 30 minutes, saying this will “flush” your in-home water system.
