HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre School Board held a special meeting on Monday to declare a Trustee vacancy and begin the process to appoint a replacement.
The meeting was called due to Trustee Scott Adams announcing his immediate resignation from the Board. Adams was appointed in December as a replacement for Brian Williams, who resigned to take a job out of state. In his resignation letter, Adams cited the need to do “what’s best for me and my family.”
The Trustee seat will be up for election in May, and the Board says they are hoping applicants will be interested in filing for election to serve a full three-year term.
Applications can be provided to the Board through noon on March 9th, and they will be reviewed at the regular board meeting at 6:30 PM that evening at Havre Middle School. Interviews with finalists have been tentatively set for March 11th.
Also at the meeting:
- The Board temporarily suspended policy 1113P in accordance with policy 1310, which will allow them to expedite the process for appointing the new Trustee. This will ensure the new appointment has enough time to be able to file for the May 4th Trustee election by the March 25th deadline
