The Havre softball team is prepparing for its final regular season swing. One more tournament stands between the Blue Ponies and Divisionals. New Media Broadcasters caught up with head coach Tony Vigliotti and he said despite wrapping up the No. 1 seed out of the Northeastern ‘A’ that practices have been business as usual
“It’s a good feeling and the girls know it’s a good feeling,” Vigliotti said. “They’re excited.”
“The number one goal coming into the year was winning our little Northeast ‘A’,” Vigliotti continued. “Via the tiebreaker, we’ve done that over Lewistown, so that’s a good feeling.”
The LaVerne Tournament is the final hurdle for Havre softball and coach Vig gave a breakdown of expectations as the team heads south to Butte to play.
“We’ve got four games coming up this weekend with some good competition,” Vigliotti said. “We’re going to play Frenchtown and Polson from the west, (which are) always great programs (and) good teams. That’ll give us a good test.”
“We’re going to play Corvallis and Anaconda as well,” Vigliotti continued. “Four good games coming up for us to tweak some things (and) maybe look at some things and get ready for that divisional tournament the following week.”
Stay tuned to New Media Broadcasters for Havre softball results from the LaVerne Tournament, which is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday.
