The Havre tennis teams went down to Billings over the weekend to take part in the Mayfair Invitational. The biggest result to take away was the bracket play in which Havre took home a doubles championship. Mason Kinsella and Carter Chagnon won the 2024 Mayfair B bracket, winning five matches in a row on the way to the title. The pair dropped one set total in their quest and in the sets that they won only lost three total games. In the ‘A’ bracket, the Spangler brothers came in third place, losing to the eventual champions of the tournament in the quarterfinals. They then survived the consolation match, dropping the first set before winning the second set and being declared the winners after one of their opponents retired.
The Blue Ponies will partake in two different invites to close out the regular season when they go on the road to Lewistown and then Miles City. Those tournaments will take place on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
