Havre Water System to Get Comprehensive Performance Evaluation

(Helena) – The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has announced that the Public Water Safety Bureau, in partnership with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a third-party contractor Process Applications Inc, will be in Havre May 20th-24th to conduct a Comprehensive Performance Evaluation (CPE), of the City of Havre Water System.

The purpose of the CPE Is to assess the the effectiveness of treatment processes, improve microbial control measures, and ensure the quality of drinking water by meeting regulatory requirements. The process may vary slightly depending on the specific plant and its individual needs, but the following steps are generally what will occur during this time in Havre.

1. Sampling and Monitoring, 2. Treatment Process Evaluation, 3. Microbiological Analysis, 4. Data Analysis and Reporting, 5. Continuous Improvement.
