Hill County Commissioners Meeting – 5/29/25

(Hill County) The Hill County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday for their weekly business meeting.

The meeting started with the county hearing several matters of employment, including the official notice of retirement from Terry Turner, who’s retiring from the Weed and Mosquito Department after a 47 year career.

In honor of his service to the county, the Hill County Board of Commissioners issued a decree declaring Thursday, May 29th to be Terry Turner Day across Hill County.

The board then approved an encroachment permit and a contract renewal for the Health Department. The county is tabling the approval of a time card service system until more information can be gathered.

The Cost of Living Adjustment for Hill County employees was also tabled this meeting, after a motion to approve a 6% wage increase for all county employees failed 1-2.

Hill County Alcohol tax money was once again split evenly between Bullhook Community Health Center and Bearpaw Recover.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 5.
