HPS July Board of Trustees Meeting

(Havre) – The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees met for their July meeting on Tuesday night at Havre Middle School. The only piece of business the Trustees discussed was a one-year increase to the district’s contribution to the insurance of the Teamsters Union. It passed unanimously.

Superintendent Brian Gum in his report informed the board that the Havre High School boys tennis team received the sportsmanship award at the Class “A” State tennis tournament this past spring.

In other items, the superintendent reported about a change in interpretation about the state law allowing out of district students to attend Havre Public Schools. At Havre High School out of district students will now be allowed to take remote instruction classes as long as they attend one class in person at the High School.

On June 24th the school had a property disposal sale and made over $3,000, and the superintendent filled the board in on the various building projects taking place across the district. Chairman of the Board of Trustees Tim Scheele, in his report gave the committee assignments for the Board of Trustees during the 2025-26 school year.
