The Montana Department of Commerce recently announced that $240k worth of grant funding would be allocated to the C&C Markets’ Modernization and Safety Improvement Project in Box Elder. Chairman of the C&C Market board Calvin Jillot tells us more about how the funds will help reduce unemployment on the reservation.
“We were honored to get the grant and now on the leadership side, we do a lot of focusing, tracking when it comes to our unemployment rates and how can we build as leaders of our reservation to provide more jobs, more opportunities. With both of these stores, they’ve done an amazing job on increasing employment by providing more job opportunities. That’s helped knock down that unemployment rate.”
