The Chinook girls’ basketball team took care of business on Thursday in the opening round of the 2025 Northern ‘B’ Divisional basketball tournament in Malta, beating Harlem, (51-40).
The Lady Beeters held the Lady Wildcats to a 7-point first quarter, but only managed six themselves in the second to send the teams to the locker room at a (22-17) score. Harlem then put on a full court press that Chinook had trouble with as the lead was trimmed to three after three. Offense was the name of the game in the fourth as the Lady Beeters put 20 points on the board, five more than the previous two quarters combined to take it.
Alexus Seymour finished with 22 points to pace Chinook, while Brooke Fetter knocked in 11 points.
As a result of Shelby upsetting Fairview (45-43), the Lady Coyotes get another crack at their 1B foes, setting up a girls’ semifinal for 6:30pm on Friday. The game will be heard on KRYK-101.3FM and HiLineToday.com.
