After picking up its first Frontier Conference win of the season against Rocky Mountain College this past Thursday, the MSU-N Lights were not able to outlast Providence on Saturday. Head coach Shawn Huse told New Media Broadcasters what happened in the final four minutes of the game where his team was leading and then the Argos charged back.
“That was the disappointing part. It felt like a game where we should have a comfortable lead and should’ve been able to hold them off down the stretch,” Huse said.
“But it wasn’t,” Huse continued. “We did not capitalize on a few possessions. Some of them was just missing some really good shots.”
“Obviously, we’ve got to capitalize,” Huse said. “We’ve got to win those types of games.”
Northern will be rematching with Carroll and Tech this week in a home-and-home. Huse said what his focus will be for this stretch of time and how he still has all the confidence in his bunch.
“We’ve been watching a lot of film and working on some things in practice because every team is a new team with different personnel and a little bit different styles,” Huse said.
“We feel like we played both those teams really tough last time. I know we did,” Huse continued. “I think this team is playing at a level that can be right there with anybody and get over the hump.”
The Lights (7-15, 1-8) will be in Helena to face Carroll on the road Thursday around 7pm and will host Montana Tech on Saturday in a matinee 12pm start.
