HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Hill County man has been sentenced to five years in state custody, with an additional seven years of probation, after being convicted of two felonies.
Steven Lee Strike, 32, was sentenced last month by Judge Olivia Rieger in Hill County District Court after being found guilty of the felonies of aggravated burglary and partner or family member assault (third or subsequent offense). Strike was also given a six month sentence for the misdemeanor of violation of a no contact order, to run concurrently with the other sentences.
Strike will be credited with 301 days time served.
Strike was found guilty by a Hill County jury on June 18th.
According to court documents, in June 2019, Strike injured his partner’s neck and face. Strike was then served a no contact order, but “chest bumped” his partner during an altercation later that month.
Earlier this year, Strike was given a five year sentence, three suspended, after being found guilty of felony bail jumping. That sentence is to run concurrently with the new sentences.
During the suspended portion of the sentence, Strike is subject to numerous conditions.
In the judgement, Judge Rieger said Strike has, “one of the longest criminal histories ever seen by this court. Although many of the Defendant’s convictions are for misdemeanor offenses, it is clear that (Strike) is unwilling to conduct himself by the rules of society.”
Strike has filed application for review of the newest sentences.
