(Billings) A man wielding a Machete was shot by an officer in Billings, according to police.
Video from the upper floors of First Interstate Tower show the man standing on a sidewalk as police officers surround him. The man was then hit by an officer’s taser before he drops to the ground.
After the man was tased, an officer of the Billings Police Department fired their service weapon at him. The police and eyewitnesses say that the reason the police officer used their firearm was because it appeared as though the individual was reaching for his machete, which he had dropped by his side.
The man was later pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.
