Milk River Gobblers Holding Youth Day

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Milk River Gobblers are holding their annual youth day this Saturday at the Havre Trap Club.

The event is open to all youth, as well as those interested in the sport of Turkey hunting and those who like bird hunting.

Activities include games, a turkey/duck call demonstration, and shotgun shooting of clay pigeons and helium balloons.

“Those youth who are 14 years of age and younger will be eligible to win a chance at a shotgun, a Mossberg .410,” says Jeff Dibblee. “One will be given to a boy, and one will be given to a girl. This day will have plenty of action going on. We’re going to have speakers from FWP putting on little demos, plaster paris kind of stuff. They’ll have the furs, skulls. I have a representative from Milk River Archery putting on a demonstration on how to bow hunt for turkeys and upland birds.”

The Milk River Gobblers are also sponsoring a bear awareness demonstration at Pepin Park at 1 PM on Friday, as well as on Saturday at the Trap Club during the Youth Day.

The event is free to attend and walk-up registrations are welcome.
