The 2nd annual basketball Montana Elite Invitational came out with its roster on Thursday night and there are some familiar names who are on the list.
Havre’s Amaya Jarvis, Big Sandy’s Eva Yeadon, CJI’s Brynn Kammerzell, and Box Elder’s Tracen Jilot will be four of the many non-seniors invited to compete. This will be the second straight year that both Jarvis and Jillot have laced up their sneakers for this prestigious event.
Other notable names that will headline the MEI competed recently in the Hi-Line Invitational Tournament. From the boys’, MVP Kyler Engellant from Beaverhead County, Mr. Hustle Kash Embry from Bozeman, slam dunk champion Johnslee Pierre from Lustre Christian, All-Stars Darcy Merchant from Billings Central Catholic and Jaxan Lieberg from Helena, as well as current Gatorade Player of the Year, Missoula Loyola’s Rey Johnston and his teammate Ethan Stack.
From the girls’, scoring and assists leader Paige Lofing from Huntley Project and Miss Hustle Paeten Gunlock from Bigfork will also see the court. Included in this list are All-Stars Madison O’Connor from Baker, Jada Davis from Gallatin, Braeden Gunlock from Bigfork, and Kadynce Couture from Missoula Big Sky.
The assembling of players comes courtesy of the Josh Huestis Foundation. The Montana Elite Invitational will be held in Great Falls at the University of Providence’s McLaughlin Center during Memorial Day Weekend.
