Montana Farm Bureau chips in pressuring congress to give aid for St. Mary Canal.

(MFBF) In another push for congress to provide aid to the state of Montana for the repair of the St. Mary Siphon, the Montana Farm Bureau recently announced its letter to congress urging the US House of Representatives to pass the Fort Belknap Indian Community Water Settlement Act.

The MFBF said in their letter that the Milk River Project is the “lifeline of the Hi-Line” and assistance to restore St. Mary’s Canal is something that MFBF members have been asking for and negotiating about for more than 20 years.

This legislation would provide 275 million dollars for Milk River Project infrastructure repairs and to restore the St. Mary’s Canal.
