Havre, MT – Friday and Saturday night at the Bigger Better Barn the MSU-Northern Lights and Skylights rodeo teams hosted Big Sky Region action, with the Skylights claiming the women’s championship.
The Skylights claimed the team victory with 360 over the Montana State Bobcats points with 285 points. The Skylights were led by Georgia Orahood who took home women’s first place overall with 210 total points built off of her first-place finish in goat tying.
MSU-Northern head coach Doug Kellenberger praised both his men’s and women’s teams’ performances on their home dirt.
“I couldn’t be more proud of their girls and their grit. Georgia had a great weekend. Brooklyn Baukol had a great weekend. Kayda Dodginghorse in the barrel racing winning that, couldn’t be more proud.” Kellenberger said about the Skylights before commenting on the Lights.
“Talen Cummings and Chance Threeirons got second in team roping again. So, they continue to hold their lead overall in the region. Brier Selvige came up big for us but he placed in the tie down roping as a team they placed third but individually they held their spots.”
MSU-Northern Rodeo will hit the road for Miles City this weekend.
