(Montana) The Wall Street Journal reports that U.S. employers added a seasonally adjusted 175 thousand jobs in April according the US Labor Department, when it was expected to exceed 300 thousand.
The new jobs in Montana as of last measure on April 22nd was just over 1600, in comparison to Montana’s total of over 15 thousand job openings; most jobs in Montana are existing positions that someone left.
Montana is ranked the 4th highest state in the country for job turnover, being led only by West Virginia at 3rd, Colorado at 2nd, and Alaska at 1st, 6.4% of all Montana jobs were open, pre-existing positions in the month of December last year.
