MSU Northern basketball started their Frontier Conference schedule on the road Saturday with a set versus the Montana Western Bulldogs.
In the early tilt, Western’s women started strong to roll to a 60-48 win, without trailing in the contest.
In the Skylights effort, Savannah Toms put up a double double, scoring 14 points with 10 rebounds in the game.
For the Lights, they held their own to push to a 48-40 halftime lead. However, the Bulldogs battled back to even things up at 78 apiece to end regulation. In overtime, a 1 point edge gave host Western the win at 85-84.
Five Lights made their way into double figures, headed up by Zackry Martinez with 26, and Xavier Bailey adding 17. Anthony Mendez scored 13, Dae’Kwon (day quahn) Watson dropped 12, and Jacob Randall notched 10 points.
Northern will next see action at the Armory Gym on Thursday, January 11, as the Montana Tech Orediggers come to Havre. Ladies are scheduled for a 5p tipoff, with the Men to start around 7p.
