Northstars Win Two at Home Versus Royals

The Havre Northstars swept the Fort Macleod Royals for the second time in as many weeks with the most recent triumphs coming at home on Sunday afternoon. The Northstars blanked the Royals, (5-0) in the first matchup and went on for a (16-8) win in game two.

Game one provided little offense for the opposition as Chason Mader threw a three-hit shutout and struck out six Royals. Havre got RBIs from Connor Essert, Quinn Elliot, Tyson Brandon, and Ezra Pyle. Three of the five runs were scored in the second inning.

In game two, the Northstars played small ball, loading the bases on multiple occasions to begin the game. It was (5-1) at the end of an eventful first frame. Tanner Delarosa hit an RBI single that scored Jevin Jenkins and Tommy Lewis in the second inning. After two more runs would score on errors and the Northstars made a pitching change, the Royals woke up in the fourth, putting up a seven-spot to make it a two-run game. Havre created separation in the sixth inning with six more runs to put the game away.

The Northstars will continue their home stand with a doubleheader on Tuesday against the Tri-County Cardinals. First pitch from American Legion Park is scheduled for 5pm.
