The Hardin Bulldogs were in the Blue Cony Corral for an Eastern “A” basketball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
In the girl’s game a 3-point play by Hardin’s Aiyanna Big Man with 2.1 seconds remaining gave the Bulldogs a 49-48 win. Havre trailed by 8 at the end of the first quarter and were down by ten 27 to 17 at the Halftime break. A 21-9 third quarter for the Ponies made it 38 to 36 Havre after 3. The two teams traded leads in the fourth quarter, but Big Man’s bucket and free throw sealed the victory for Hardin. Aiyanna Big Man led Hardin in Scoring with 14 points, also in Double figures for the Bulldogs was Diamond Amyotte with 13 points. The Ponies were led in scoring by Kyanna Jarvis with 12.
In the boys contest Xavier Butler’s 22 second half points helped Havre to a 66-62 victory. Havre trailed 50-44 heading into the 4th quarter but outscored the Bulldogs 22 to 12 in the final stanza to pull out the win. Butler led all scorers with 34 points. Tre Gary had 11 points for Havre. The Ponies ahoy 20 of 24 from the free throw line. Kingston Hugs had a great afternoon for Hardin Scoring 30 points. Ellias Stops At Pretty Places added 11 points for Hardin.
Havre will be on the road next Friday night but returns to the Blue Pony gym Saturday for a matchup with Browning.
