(Fort Benton) – The Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in Fort Benton is home to Bighorn Sheep. Rhiannon Davis, Educations Specialist for the Monument is hosting a ranger chat this week on this topic. Davis tells us what she will cover in this chat.
“Bighorn sheep are one of the most iconic animals here in Montana and we do have a population of them here in the monument, and we want to understand as much about them as possible because they’re kind of elusive. They’re a little bit harder to spot. So, we’re going to have a ranger chat to go over the habitat of these animals, where they can be found, what they like to eat and how they’re able to survive in what can often times be a very unforgiving environment.”
The Bighorn Sheep in the Breaks Ranger Talk takes place on Thursday from 11am until noon at the Missouri River Breaks Interpretive Center in Fort Benton.
