ROSEBUD COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The largest wildfire in the state is now fully contained.
The 171,300 acre Richard Spring Fire in Rosebud County reached 100 percent containment on Friday.
The fire was sparked back on August 8th due to a burning coal seam and destroyed 12 secondary structures.
Command over the incident was turned back over from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation to local authorities over the weekend.
Please use caution if traveling between Lame Deer and Ashland on Highway 212, as fire personnel with heavy equipment are still working in the area.
