Rocky Boy Confirms 2 COVID-19 Related Deaths

ROCKY BOY, Mont. (NMB) – Health Officials on the Rocky Boy’s Reservation have confirmed two deaths of Hill County residents with contributing factors related to COVID-19.

The individuals were males in their 50’s and 60’s with underlying health conditions.

The Rocky Boy Health Center also reported one new COVID-19 case Thursday evening.

Rocky Boy has reported 38 COVID-19 cases. Six are active, including one new case announced Thursday.

Rocky Boy’s numbers include some Hill County residents and some Chouteau County residents. It is unclear if the new case is a Hill or Chouteau County resident, as both counties reported one new COVID-19 case on Thursday.

The Chippewa Cree Tribe’s Stay at Home Order and Curfew Mandate remain in effect indefinitely.

Chouteau County has reported nine total COVID-19 cases, six of which are active.

Hill County has reported a total of 42 COVID-19 cases. Only three are active, which means the Governor’s mask directive is not currently in effect.

However, the Hill County Health Department encourages mask use per the Directive’s guidelines, regardless of active case counts in the county.
