Rocky Boy Police chase ends in police involved shooting.

(Rocky Boy) At 12:30am on May 14th, the Hill County Sheriff’s office responded to a call by Rocky Boy Police that they were in pursuit of a vehicle leaving the reservation and that the suspects where shooting at them while in pursuit.

Deputies responded to the area of Fresno Road and Highway 87 where the vehicle had become stuck and both occupants attempted to flee on foot. A female occupant was arrested immediately, and a male occupant fled further south. Police say the individual pointed a gun at the responding officers, who shot the man and then provided medical aid and transported him to Northern Montana Hospital for further care.

Neither the name of the deputy who shot the man, nor the names of the suspects are released at this time. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending review, as is done in all cases which involve use of force. The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation was asked to investigate the incident.
