Several Events in the Works at Great Northern Fairgrounds

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Although the Great Northern Fair Board was unable to take any action at their meeting this week to a lack of a quorum, Fair Manager Frank English announced plans for a pair of upcoming events.

On Saturday, September 4th from 1-9 PM, there will be an event with food booths, a farmer’s market, live music, a car and bike show, and possibly even a rodeo.

English says he is also working on setting up a family friendly event around Halloween. This would feature a trunk or treat, a family-friendly Halloween movie on a projector, and possibly even a beer garden.

The Fair Board currently has only two voting members. Four are needed for a quorum, and the Board is hopeful that several people will be appointed before next month’s meeting, scheduled for September 21st.

Other notes from the meeting:

  • Total profits from the fair are estimated at $28,000
  • The 2nd ever Beaver Creek Jam is tentatively scheduled for July 8th and 9th, according to promoter Ken Erickson
  • The 2022 Great Northern Fair is likely to take place from July 14th-18th
  • English is planning on taking the work pickup to a shop to get the air conditioning replaced. English says his attempts to repair the unit have been unsuccessful
