Shelby High School loses part of its roof due to high winds.

(Shelby) Shelby High School suffered some damage from high wind weather conditions on Tuesday, May 7th.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Elliot Crump, Superintendent of Shelby Public Schools, to ask for more information.

“The roof did not blow off. The water proofing system on our roof detached, it has come off a portion and so we are getting some water penetration on the upper floor of the building. There isn’t any structural damage to the roof that we know of at this point, we’ve got fire fighters up top right now they’re removing those portions that are flapping in the wind. We have a contractor on the way supposed to be here tomorrow to help get us back up and running”
