Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern Skylights volleyball lost four key seniors to graduation last year. In 2026 Northern volleyball is needing to pick up those pieces with five returners and six newcomers.
Skylight coach Jerry Wagner told New Media Broadcaster Sports that his number one goal for the offseason is communication of culture between the old and the new.
“We have one goal over the summer. The one goal is the communication level has to be high between the five returning players and six incoming players, and that’s the goal. How are we going to do the best job of that? Make sure were on the same page to relay that same message to these incoming players.”
The Skylights ended their 2025 campaign in the Frontier Conference semifinal to the Bellevue Bruins in a close five set match.
To start the 2026 season Northern Volleyball will host their summer camp August 3 through the 6, before holding their alumni match Saturday August 12.
The season opener for Skylight volleyball will be in Butte against Williams Baptist College August 20, at 4p.m. The skylights home opener will be played on September 9, against the raining Frontier Conference champion Providence Argos at 7p.m.
