HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A fire in Beaver Creek Park on Wednesday morning burned just over an acre of grass on top of a hill.
Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department Chief Josh Bebee says he was dispatched at around 7:30 AM to a report of a fire near Rotary Pond and Mount Otis.
The fire was contained and extinguished in short order, and BPFVD was able to leave the scene by 1:15 PM.
Local landowners and Beaver Creek Park officials assisted BPVFD in the effort.
The fire was near the border of Beaver Creek Park and private land.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
As the dry weather continues along the Hi-Line, Bebee advises everyone to be fire aware. Grass is really dry right now, so it doesn’t take much for a fire to rapidly grow.
