Havre Blue Pony Softball saw its 2025 campaign come to an end on Friday morning of the State Class A softball tournament.
After a victory in the opening round against Lockwood on Thursday, followed by a loss against Frenchtown, the Lady Ponies began elimination play against the Hamilton Broncs. Havre couldn’t get any offense going, as Hamilton picked up the shutout victory 10-0. Game details were not available at the time of this story.
Other elimination games saw Billings Central dominate East Helena 27-2, Dillon blanking Stevensville 9-0, and Columbia Falls getting past Lockwood 12-9.
The quarterfinals opened afternoon play, with Polson bumping Laurel 14-4 and Frenchtown edge past Lewistown 6-4, putting Polson & Frenchtown into the unbeaten semifinal at 10am Saturday..
Billings Central defeated Hamilton 12-2 Friday afternoon, to move on to face Laurel . Billings Central stayed alive with a 9-3 win over the Locomotives. Columbia Falls doubled up on Dillon 20-10, advancing to take on Lewistown later Friday evening. Lewistown picked up that 10-7 decision over Columbia Falls.
Billings Central and Lewistown will meet in the elimination quarterfinal at 10am Saturday. The winner will head into the third place game, facing the fallen between Polson & Frenchtown.
