Northern C basketball had three NMB area teams in the field for the start of Day 3 in the morning and all three ended up being victorious in loser-out action.
Fort Benton’s girls knocked Cascade out, (54-30). Lilly Ferris had 20 points for the Longhorn girls to get things going, while Ang Reiner chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds.
Chester-Joplin-Inverness beat Augusta, (65-34) in girls’ action. Brie Mattson led the way for CJI’s girls, scoring a game-high 22 points. Brynn Kammerzell settled for 13 points and five rebounds.
The Hi-Line Hawks won over Cascade, (68-60). CJI’s boys used a late run to stay alive in the tournament. Ryland St. John poured in 25 points and Cooper Streit finished with nine points and eight rebounds.
CJI’s girls will kick of KPQX-Havre’s coverage at 8am in loser-out play on Saturday. Fort Benton’s girls will also play a team in a loser-out at 9:30 Saturday morning. CJI’s boys go up against an opponent to be determined tonight in loser-out play at 12:30pm on Saturday
