(NMB) On Thursday, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced the One Farmer, One File modernization. An action aimed at putting farmers first with sweeping technological improvements at the USDA.
“The goal is simple. Eliminate the redundant information gathering, reduce friction in every produce interaction. Retire outdated systems and give farmers a single, seamless, secure experience at USDA. We will completely transform USDA’s IT system and change the way farmers interact with our department, and we will complete this initiative within 2 years.”
Through One Farmer, One File, USDA’s mission is to create a single, streamlined record that follows the farmer, no matter where they go in the USDA system.
The goal of the One Farmer, One File Initiative is to reduce the administration burden for farmers.
