27 Recipients Announced for the 2019 MT Congressional Veteran Commendation

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NMB) – Congressman Greg Gianforte announced the recipients of the 2019 Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation, a unique recognition of Montana veterans who served our country and continued their service in their communities.

A press release says that Gianforte created the annual award in 2017 to recognized outstanding Montana veterans who have honorably served our nation and our communities. Gianforte asked Montanans in September to nominate veterans for the award.

Since 2017, 60 veterans have received the Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation.

Among this years’ commendation recipients are Perry MIller of Chinook, who served the U.S. Marine Corps and the Montana Army National Guard.

James Geiger of Conrad was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and fought in World War II.
