Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern football officially concluded fall camp as of Wednesday August 19. In the first chapter of the 2026 season, the Lights wide receivers are filling a needed role under new offensive coordinator Coach K.
Coach K, who played wide receiver in the PAC-12 Conference at Stanford, praised what he has seen from his group of pass catchers.
“Man, I’ve been a receiver coach now for a few years, and this is one of the best groups of receivers in terms of being leaders. And then from a passing game perspective continuing to work on chemistry with the quarterbacks is critical, but I’m seeing the flashes consistently of how good those wide outs can be.”
Lights senior wide receiver, Isaiah Woodly, shared how the culture has developed in the receiving room. “Really just got to motivate the guys if somebody drops the ball, we’re going to be there to support them because we’re based on team-oriented stuff.”
“It’s a team game we want our teammates to win. If we’re on the sideline and we want to go in we are going to cheer that guy on, and if we go in the guy on the sideline is going to do the same thing.” Woodly shared.
The Lights offense in 2025 averaged just over 141 receiving yards per game which ranked 10th in the Frontier Conference.
