(NMB) The 10th Annual Veterans Memorial Softball Classic will take place August 4th and 5th in Belgrade. The event brings together the best High School softball players in the state while honoring Veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. There is one team for each branch of the Military, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Three Havre Blue Ponies will be participating. Jersi Morse, Camille Keeley and Elle Verploegen. Morse played right field for the Ponies this season and had a .460 batting average with 28 runs batted in and two home runs. Catcher Camille Keeley hit .438, led the team in runs batted in with 52 and was the Blue Ponies leader in home runs with 8. Pitcher Elle Verploegen had 17 wins and 6 losses on the year, an ERA of 3.5 and struck out 136. The Veterans Softball Classic is August 4th and 5th in Belgrade.
