HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana’s 46th annual Economic Outlook Seminar will be held virtually on February 1st and 2nd.
Dr. Robert Sonora is the Bureau of Business and Economic Research Director for the University of Montana, and says this year’s theme is The Path Forward – How COVID-19 has Reshaped the Economy.
“What we want to provide not only households but also businesses and local and regional governments is some information as to how people are thinking about this problem, what we thing are possible solutions going forward, and essentially we want to prepare people and businesses for what might be coming down the road.”
The second day of the seminar will take a look at how local economies, including Havre, Lewistown and Great Falls, have been impacted by the pandemic.
“For some areas that might not have as much telecommuting possibilities, maybe it has a larger impact than for cities and counties that have industries which are more conducive to telecommuting. So there is going to be sort of regional or county-specific differences, and that’s what we’re going to be discussing.”
