(NMB) On Monday in 12th Judicial District Court in Havre Sheila Kay Forshee of Havre was sentenced to five years with the Montana Department of Corrections, with no time suspended and ordered to pay more than 18,700.00 dollars in restitution. In a Jury trial held in August, Forshee was found guilty of one count of felony exploitation of an incapacitated person. The Jury determined Forshee knowingly used the 93-year-old victim’s funds, assets or property for her own benefit between September 2024 and September 2025.
The Court cited the seriousness of the offense, a prior conviction involving deceptive practices, and repeated contempt findings in other court proceedings. District Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz presided over the proceedings.
