FWP Asks Hunters to be Fire Vigilant

(NMB) Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks in a press release is urging hunters across the region to get the latest in local fire danger, restrictions, and closures in order to take the necessary precautions.

To help prevent fires, hunters are asked to drive only on established roads, avoid roads with high vegetation in the middle track, and Never park over dry grass.

It is advised hunters carry a fire extinguisher or water-filled weed sprayer, bucket and shovel, axe and cell phone for emergency calls.

Hunters are also advised to build campfires in established pits or metal rings, restrict camping activities to designated sites, and smoke only in cars or buildings.
