(Havre) — The Havre City Council met on Tuesday, September 1st, and Wednesday, September 2nd, for its regular session and to finalize the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget
On Tuesday night, the council approved a special property tax assessment for properties with unpaid charges for nuisance weed control.
Next, the council approved Mayor Wade Bitz’s appointments of Steven Johnson and Nathan Courtnage to the City-County Health Board, alongside Councilman Mitchell Dolphay and Mayor Bitz to the board’s governing body, which requires elected official representation.
The council also approved two city draws—one for the Water Phase 3 PER and another for Montana Main Street. Additionally, a request from the Havre Chamber of Commerce for a street closure during the Festival Days weekend tribute concert in Town Square was unanimously approved.
Tuesday’s meeting concluded with an open hearing on the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, after which the council recessed until Wednesday, September 2nd.
