Havre Boys and Girls Go into Break Red Hot

Both the Havre boys’ and girls’ basketball teams get a well-deserved break for Christmas before resuming their schedule on Jan. 6th at home vs Custer.

The Boys are 4-1 while the girls are 3-2. Both teams go into the break on a three-game win streak.

Head coach of the Lady Blue Ponies Dustin Kraske talked about that break.

“We’ll give our volleyball/ basketball kids some time off. They haven’t really had a break at all since the first part of August. We’re happy to do that. Clear our minds a little, rest up our bodies and then get ready for the second half of the year prior to tournaments. We’re going to continue to work to develop the fundamentals. Defensively we’ve improved very much, the first month of the season we’ll look to continue to do that. Then offensively, we do a pretty good job in the open floor, so our focus after the break is going to be working to get a great shot five on five.” – Kraske.

Head coach of the boys’ team Walynn Burgess knows the break will be a good way to grow from the first half of the season.

“It was a good growth for us. We’re really excited about the growth part. We understand that we have a lot of stuff we need to fix and correct. Thats what Christmas break is going to really good for.” – Burgess
