BROWNING, Mont. (NMB) – Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services has announced that 8 people were arrested on Thursday morning after a federal search warrant was executed at the home of Tribal Chairman Timothy “Kink” Davis.
Davis was not among those arrested or charged, and he is not believed to have been in the house at the time of the search, according to the Great Falls Tribune.
Arraignments for the suspects were held on Friday, but further details, including names of the individuals are not being released at this time.
According to law enforcement, four of the suspects were arrested for allegedly selling fentanyl. The other four were arrested based on what was found in the house.
The search warrant was executed at 6 AM by the FBI and Blackfeet Law Enforcement.
The investigation remains open and ongoing.
The arrests come just days after a state of emergency was declared on the Blackfeet Reservation because there were 17 fentanyl overdoses and four drug-related deaths reported in the span of a week.
