HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Bullhook storm drain project in Havre is moving along and Havre’s Public Works Director, Dave Peterson says they hope to have most of the project completed in the next few weeks, weather permitting. Peterson says there may be an area that will have to stay gravel until next spring as they can’t pave the area until the weather warms up.
“We had an area over on 2nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, and then we were on 6th Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Street, going down the alley there. And then this last concentration has been over on 4th Avenue between 7th and 9th streets.”
Peterson says they are still working with the bonding company, but hope things get worked out before the project is finished.
“Lakeside had to come in and do, fix some work that Kincaid did previously on the project that didn’t meet project specs or requirements. So we are still in negotiations with the bonding company to get those issues settled with them and hopefully get the money, you know, taken care of from them.”
Peterson says the only issue with the current project is trying to get the new replacement pipes to fit down the narrow alley they are working on.
