Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern Sports Information Director (SID) and Skylights basketball assistant coach, Sierra (Richards) Woodward, was recently selected to the MSU-Northern Athletics HOF.
Woodward first joined the Skylight basketball program in 2015 as junior and was key part to a run in the NAIA national tournament. Sierra Sat down with NMB Sports and reflected on her favorite memory as a player.
“We were playing here to go the championship for the Frontier Conference. And Jacy Thompson at the time, hits a 3 and we get a stop on defense to go to the championship.”
Woodward and the Skylights defeated Montana Western in that game 44-42 before losing the Frontier Conference Championship game to Lewis and Clark State College 57-50.
Woodward is one of six former players and current administrators going into the Northern HOF.
The 2026 MSU-Northern Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Friday, September 4, in the MSUN SUB Ballroom. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., with the ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The inductees will also be recognized during halftime of the Lights football game against the University of Montana Western Bulldogs on Saturday, September 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
