FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Transportation reopened the stretch of US-87 from Fort Benton to Great Falls late Monday afternoon after a closure of about five hours.
MDT says blowing dust caused zero visibility and made travel unsafe.
The closure came after a vehicle accident with at least one reported injury near the Cascade County line on Monday morning, which MDT says was caused in part due to blowing dirt.
