HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s City Council met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday night at City Hall.
The only item on the agenda was the approval of last month’s claims and manual warrants.
However, following the approval of that agenda item, Mayor Tim Solomon announced that he had received an email earlier in the day from the Department of Commerce letting Havre know that they have been accepted as a Main Street Montana affiliate community.
Now that the designation has been approved, the city is eligible to receive certain grants in the future to help revitalize downtown. The next step for Havre in regards to Main Street Montana will be to develop a master plan to outline potential improvements.
