NAMI Working to Provide Mental Health Support During COVID-19 Pandemic

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness wants the public to know that they are willing to provide assistance during these challenging times.

Crystal Laufer, President of the Havre affiliate of NAMI, says they are able to provide some of their services online if there is interest.

“We are open to helping anything out right now online. We can do our family support group online if people would like to do that.”

Laufer asks people to stay in contact with family or friends that suffer from depression, anxiety or other mental illnesses

“Be there and talk to them and check on them every once in a while. Because if you’re not being checked on, then their thoughts are not doing very well, because that’s when a lot of them think about suicide.”

Laufer urges people to contact her at 879-6646, or Cindy Fitzpatrick at 390-3682 with any questions, comments or concerns.
