HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Although the Havre-Hill County Library remains closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, library staff are doing their part to keep local residents reading.
Children’s Librarian Ashley Martin Verity has been leading online reading sessions on the Library’s Facebook page since they closed their doors.
These readings are held on Facebook Live every weekday morning, with different sessions set up for different age groups.
“On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we do Story Time, on Tuesdays and Thursdays its Curiosity Corner, and every day at 11:15 we do the light reading chapter book.”
Curiosity Corner is a non-fiction book reading and discussion, while Story Time features picture books and songs. They both begin at 10 AM on weekdays.
Light Reading, which features middle grade chapter books followed by a dance break, is held every weekday at 11:15 AM.
Due to copyright restrictions, the streams are not able to be archived and must be viewed live.
Verity also recommends Montanans use the state’s free online library resource.
