HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Public Schools Superintendent Andy Carlson spoke with New Media Broadcasters Wednesday, April 15 about the upcoming elections and the mill levy on the ballot.
Carlson said people should start receiving the ballots this week and there’s a couple of ways they can go about returning them during the stay at home order.
“They can either mail them back to us or we’ll actually have a bus set up here where people can drop them off. I want to remind folks if they bring more than five, I believe they have to have signatures for them…We ask that people us social distancing. So, you won’t even actually come in there, we’ll have an individual sitting in the bus, and you’ll hand it to them.”
Carlson said there is a mill levy on the ballot, and he does not believe it would have been included if our present situation was known.
“I can’t tell people how to vote on those but what I would tell you is that these are tough times and it’s disappointing because you run those with the intent of why you run them. And this would be I think four or five years since we’ve run one but at the same time, I would just tell everybody that, that wouldn’t have been included had we known we’d be where we are.”
